Mold Removal & Remediation in Toronto & GTA
The professionals at mri-mold.ca take a methodical and systematic approach to carefully remove mold from your home or office and restore your environment to normal conditions ensuring there is no risk of cross contamination. When disturbed (for instance during renovation or removal), mold spores become airborne. Mould species are highly adaptable and only need moisture and a food source so it is important that the removal process is done with great care and the proper equipment is used to ensure a successful remediation.
Each mold removal project is different, however the steps below provide you with a general outline of the actions taken to remove mold from a residential or commercial property.
Depending on the scope of the project, a containment unit is constructed to isolate the area where the mold is being removed. This includes ensuring the working environment is equipped with a negative air machine to control any rogue mold spores and force all contaminants out of the environment.
Our trained professionals are outfitted with the appropriate safety equipment while performing the remediation. All contaminated materials are surgically removed from the environment, bagged and disposed of in a clinical fashion. Once all contaminated material has been removed, the environment is fogged with an antimicrobial agent to kill any remaining mold spores. When the fogging is completed, a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) vacuum is used to eliminate the remaining dead spores and restore the environment to a condition 1 status. The final step is to perform a clearance test (air quality testing) to validate that the remediation project has been successful.
